Edmonton – The Book Publishers Association of Alberta (BPAA) is pleased to announce the publication of the 2024 Read Alberta Publisher Catalogue, a showcase of the books published in Alberta in 2024. This special edition of the catalogue celebrates the BPAA’s upcoming 50th anniversary, with specially designed pieces by illustrator Derek Evernden and designer Natalie Olsen.
From readers looking for a new book club selection, to teachers and librarians adding resources to their classroom or library, the Read Alberta Publisher Catalogue is an invaluable tool for discovering quality, local content. With books available across a variety of genres and accessible formats, Alberta’s Story can reach all readers, no matter their reading preferences.
This year’s catalogue includes over 90 new titles from 13 Alberta book publishers, and Alberta contributors are indicated with an Alberta rose icon. It is easier than ever for readers to find books that represent the diverse perspectives and stories of Alberta.
“The publishers of Alberta are resilient and vibrant; they act as storytellers and curators, each sharing stories which offer a unique snapshot of our province,” says Kieran Leblanc, Executive Director of the BPAA. “These publishers are the cornerstone of Alberta storytelling, and this catalogue recognizes their immeasurable contributions to the culture, economy, and job creation here in Alberta.”
In addition to the print catalogue, readers can download a printable PDF of the 2024 Read Alberta Publisher Catalogue to begin exploring the exciting new books published right here in Alberta.
