Media Release – Third Annual Read Alberta Publisher Catalogue
Posted .
Edmonton – The Book Publishers Association of Alberta (BPAA) is pleased to announce the release of the 2023 Read Alberta Publisher Catalogue, which showcases books published in Alberta throughout 2023. This edition of the catalogue highlights over 100 frontlist titles from 19 Alberta book publishers.
Throughout 2023, Alberta book publishers have continued to share stories from the beautiful tapestry that is Alberta’s unique cultural identity and heritage. This year’s catalogue features books spanning many genres— from scholarly and non-fiction to poetry, speculative fiction, drama, and more. With information related to genre, format, and accessibility included for each title, the Read Alberta Publisher Catalogue is a valuable resource for librarians, booksellers, and readers. New to this year’s catalogue is a list of Alberta independent bookstores where these books can be purchased.
“Alberta book publishers, alongside the authors, editors, illustrators, and designers they work with, play a critical role in the storytelling process,” says Kieran Leblanc, Executive Director of the BPAA. “This catalogue is an excellent demonstration of the breadth and variety of books published each year in Alberta, and illustrates how our province’s publishers contribute to Alberta’s culture and economy.”
The 2023 Read Alberta Publisher Catalogue was distributed in print to industry stakeholders across Canada, and is also available as a printable PDF. More information about the catalogue can be found on the Read Alberta Publisher Catalogue webpage.
