Media Release: Book Publishers Association of Alberta Endorses Association of Canadian Publishers’ Statement on Anti-Black Racism

Edmonton – The Book Publishers Association of Alberta (BPAA) is endorsing the statement, released June 5, from the Association of Canadian Publishers (ACP).

Members of the BPAA join with our national counterparts to stand in solidarity with those who have taken to the streets in protest against the ongoing, brutal, and systemic anti-Black racism that remains foundational in our culture.

We also endorse the commitment by the ACP to work towards active and accountable change in the Canadian publishing industry to ensure fair representation of Black and other racialized people in all roles within the publishing industry.
