Freehand Books Author Karyn Freedman Wins BC National Book Award

Congratulations to Karyn Freedman (Freehand Books), winner of the 2015 BC National Award for Canadian Non-Fiction! Her memoir One Hour in Paris: A True Story of Rape and Recovery was presented the $40,000 award at a ceremony in Vancouver.

University of Alberta Press Author Wins $10,000 Lane Anderson Award for Science Writing

Congratulations to Kevin Timoney, University of Alberta Press author for winning the 2013 Lane Anderson Award for The Peace-Athabasca Delta: Portrait of a Dynamic Ecosystem. The award honours the very best science writing in Canada today, in both adult and young reader categories.
